Since 1995 I have been a member of Dublin City Council, making me one of our city’s longest serving Councillors. Currently I chair the Finance Strategic Policy Committee. I was also nominated to serve as a Director of Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children, and St. James Hospital.
In 2014 I ran a successful campaign as an Independent candidate in the newly created Rathmines-Rathgar electoral area which had been changed to include Harolds Cross and Terenure which had previously been in the Crumlin-Kimmage electoral area. I ran on the promise of providing responsible and transparent leadership. Since 2014 I have worked tirelessly on the following issues;
Achieving 15% reduction in level of Local Property Tax.
Improving efficiency in Council services.
Seeking to increase supply of Social Housing.
Community development supports.
