Ruairí McGinley has served as a City Councillor on Dublin City Council since 1995.

In 2014 Ruairí ran as an Independent candidate in the newly created Rathmines Rathgar electoral area which had been changed to include Harolds Cross and Terenure which had previously been in Crumlin Kimmage electoral area.

Since his election Ruairí has been working with the other 11 Independents elected right across Dublin City.

Ruairí chairs the Finance Strategic Policy Committee and is a member of Corporate Policy Group of Dublin City Council. This fits with Ruairi’s professional background as an accountant.

Ruairí was also nominated by Dublin City Council to serve as a Director of Our Ladies Hospital for Sick Children where he has served as a Director in the period 1995 -1999 and 2009 to date
